I bought this factor with the intention of preserving it at dwelling as a quirky dialog piece but it used to be so cool I just needed to deliver it into work. The responses are hilarious and vary from "Why do you have a phone booth?" to "what's a 'police box'?". So a manners, only one individual recognized it and kinda shifted their eyes from aspect to aspect while pronouncing in a hushed voice... "You watch 'the Doctor' too?" "No sir, I watch the Doctor WHO". Ha! The right folks get it.

Either method, the fact it just glides there, rotating at the slightest breeze, appears to blow everyone away. If I had a nickle for every time someone sat there and (20 or so minutes into a meeting) lurched all of sudden against it exclaiming "Wait, is that FLOATING?!", it would have paid for itself.

The best main flaw I may find is that it does not come with a AC adapter. I ran all the approach down to Radio Shack and picked one up, so factor that into your price (the battery possibility will get previous fast).

Here's a video of placing the TARDIS and spinning it with a straw.

It has a gentle sensor, so when there is no gentle, it drops. You have to place it again up manually (center it between the highest and the bottom of the stand). I like it quite a bit, but wished it mechanically levitated itself. I thought it might, but it can't.

The stand is cheap plastic and it is made in China. Doesn't include a/c adapter or batteries, however will run on both (6xAA batteries are needed).

Edit 11/8/2011: I offered an a/c adapter which deactivates the gentle sensor, now it spins all day and night.
